A pre-treatment chemical mixture of ammonium bifluoride, isopropyl alcohol  and acrylic acid for glass adhesive applications. In one particular pretreatment for the repair of stone breaks and long cracks in windshields. The pretreatment improves the repair by removing, through evaporation of the solvent, isopropyl alcohol, the hydrophobic coating that has been applied to the windshield simultaneously etching the sides of the stone break or long crack in a way that allows better adhesion by the adhesive repair resin while not leaving any trace of the etching after the repair is complete, thereby keeping the windshield or other glass, clear.

X-Phobic Windshield Repair Resin

RainX remover and cleaner, that removes any molecule compounds that are bonded to the windshield. Not removing these compounds will prevent your resin from curing.  


X-Phobic removes more than just RainX product, but windshield washer fluid, however, this is a chemical that works sub-surface and ensures any contaiments are removed.

  • How Do I Remove Rain-X From My Windshield?

    RainX is a hydrophobic treatment that when it rains and the windshield wipers are used it bleeds into breaks and cracks. It chemically bonds to glass and will block windshield repair resin from the glass. The X-Phobic  primer will eat the RainX molecule  off of the glass and microscopically etch the glass so your resin has a fresh primed surface to bond to. To use the primer, drop it into the break or crack by capillary action. Then let it evaporate. You can use a heat gun or blow dryer to speed up evaporation. 

  • Will Rubbing Alcohol Remove RainX

    Rubbing Alcohol will not remove RainX out of a break or crack. 

  • Does Windex Remove RainX?

    Windex does not remove RainX  inside of a break or crack. Washing a surface of a windshield with a treated windshield will not remove RainX from the surface.

  • Does RainX Leave a Film?

    RainX leaves a film that will cause rain to bead and roll off of the glass but it is not visible. 

  • Is RainX Bad For Your Windshield?

    RainX is the only hydrophobic coating that bleeds . We recommend using any other brand.

  • How Long Does RainX Last On a Windshield?

    Rainx lasts about six months to a year depending on how often it rains.

  • Does RainX Windshield Repair Kit Work?

    Repair technicians often have consumers who have tried to repair their own windshield asking us to re-repair it. Most often they will be told it cannot be re-repaired and now have to replace the windshield. It cannot repair breaks that require drilling and when those breaks are attempted it can ruin the windshield. It is not disclosed by the sellers or manufacturer whether it passes any federal or industry safety standards, such as ROLAGS or FMVSS 205.
